[It's truly something that they aren't going to see eye-to-eye on, clearly. Vash seems convinced that Wolfwood is going to die if he stays anywhere near him, be it by his own hand or by proxy, despite knowing good and well that he chose to go into those woods just as much as Vash chose to come with him. If anything, Vash's presence there was coincidental, at best. Wolfwood could also just as easily choke on breakfast or drown in the river, and it wouldn't be Vash's doing.
Vash is crying now, even if he's trying to hide his face, and that is at least enough to get Wolfwood to back off slightly. He's not leaving, god no, but he's also not right up in Vash's face like he was a few seconds prior. He's panting like a racehorse though, the wind whipping his hair back from his face as he glares back at Vash, because it's so frustrating.
